Erinnert ihr euch noch an die Blackberry-Armbanduhr inPulse von Allerta? Die kanadische Firma sammelt auf Kickstarter seit gestern Spenden für eine neue Smartwatch namens "Pebble" und ist dabei wahnsinnig erfolgreich: Das Ziel von 100.000 Dollar war nach zwei Stunden erreicht, und mittlerweile sind es sogar schon fast 800.000 Dollar. Damit ist der Startschuss für die Produktion gefallen. Wenn alles läuft wie geplant, wird die Uhr noch in diesem Jahr für 150 Dollar auf den Markt kommen.
Die Pebble verfügt über ein stromsparendes E-Paper-Display mit einer Auflösung von 144 x 168 Pixeln und hat laut Allerta eine Akkulaufzeit von über sieben Tagen. Via Bluetooth 2.1 verbindet sie sich mit Android- und iOS-Geräten und meldet eingehende Anrufe, Emails und Kurznachrichten mit einem Vibrationsalarm. Ausserdem kann man per Knopfdruck Songs auf dem Smartphone abspielen, und mehrere Apps versorgen Fahrradfahrer und Jogger mit Daten. Neben den oben abgebildeten drei Farbvarianten Weiß, Schwarz und Rot wird es noch eine vierte geben, über welche die ersten Unterstützer abstimmen dürfen. Pebble connects to iPhone and Android smartphones using Bluetooth 2.1, alerting you with a silent vibration to incoming calls, emails and messages. While designing Pebble, we strove to create a minimalist yet fashionable product that seamlessly blends into everyday life.
Many apps are being built to run on Pebble. Cyclists can use Pebble as a bike computer, accessing the GPS on a smartphone to display speed, distance and pace data. Runners get a similar set of data displayed on their wrist. The music control app allows users to play, pause or skip tracks on their smartphone with the touch of a button. Golfer can feel free to bring Pebble onto the course. Pebble has partnered with Freecaddie to create a great golf rangefinder app for Pebble that works on over 25,000 courses world-wide. Instead of looking at a smartphone app, golfers can view current distance to the green right on their wrist.
Multiple watchapps can run on the watch simultaneously. New watchapps can be downloaded and installed on Pebble using the Pebble App available for iOS 5+ and Android 2.3+ devices. Using the free and open Pebble SDK, developers can create their own watchapps that take advantage of the built-in 3-axis accelerometer, e-paper display, vibrating motor, 4 buttons and Bluetooth chip. Developers can also take advantage of the push notification system that Pebble uses to receive and transmit data to the internet.
Pebble is launching on Kickstarter on April 11, 2012. Prices start at $99. Pebble is available
in 4 colors: Arctic White, Jet Black, Cherry Red, and a 4th color option that will be voted on by backers of the project. Pebble will retail for $149 when it goes on sale later this year.

Mit Interesse habe ich damals die Ankündigung verfolgt und auf eine Veröffentlichung in Deutschland gehofft, doch nichts weiter als Lippenbekenntnisse.
Dann bin ich auf IOS und Android gewechselt und will nicht mehr zurück.
Die Akkudauer von einer Woche hört sich gut an, wenn es Wasserdicht ist, könnt ich mir den Kauf vorstellen, preis ist mit 150 Euro nicht zu teuer find ich.
Nur wird es den Weg nach Deutschland finden oder wie Inpulse nur über die USA zu bekommen sein?
Dann bin ich mal gespannt.

auf ca. 98 eur kommt mann wenn man 130 dollar in euro umrechnet (115 eur + 15 eur versand)
Aber wie sieht das mit dem zoll und der steuer aus? kommt die noch drauf?

finde das pebble projekt auch sehr interessant! dass es soviele geldgeber dafür gibt, damit hätte wohl keiner gerechnet. bin mal gespannt, ob die uhren auch in deutscher sprache angeboten werden und ob man sie dann hier auch ohne weiteres kaufen kann.

Hallo,
Ich finde diese Pebble Uhr sehr gut, und würde sie mir auch sehr gerne kaufen. Dafür muß ich aber zuerst wissen, ob die Pebble Uhren auch ein grünes Telefonsymbol haben, um Telefongespräche anzunehmen, und ein rotes Telefonsymbol um Gespräche zu beenden. Das ist für mich das Hauptkriterium bevor ich mich entscheide diese Uhr zu kaufen. Kann mir jemand dazu schon was sagen? Freue mich auf Eure Antwort.
